Welcome to Statesville Equine Clinic, specializing in sport horse medicine.
Mission Statement:
To provide the highest level of veterinary care to the equine athlete without sacrificing the one on one interaction with each individual client.
The late Dr. H. D. Blackwelder started a mixed animal practice in 1971 and in 1984, divided the business and founded Statesville Bovine and Equine Clinic, focusing exclusively on large animals. In 2001 his son, Dr. Travis Blackwelder, joined the practice and is now primarily focused on sport horse and western performance lameness and medicine.
The hospital is located in Statesville, NC, conveniently located near the the intersections of I-77 and I-40.
Many of our clients haul in from all areas of North Carolina, northern South Carolina and Southern Virginia. We also have ambulatory veterinary services which covers the Iredell county and Lake Norman area and some areas of Mecklenburg, Rowan, Davie, Catawba, Alexander and Forsyth Counties.
We provide full health services to our equine patients with special interest in equine lameness, tendon and joint therapies, and pre-purchase exams. Our hospital is equipped with the latest technology including digital radiology, digital ultrasound, digital endoscopy, IRAP, PRP, Alpha 2 and Pro-Stride therapies, in-house laboratory, focal shockwave therapy, Artemis laser therapy and power dentistry.
